A significant number of accidents involving large tractor-trailers are caused by tire blowouts or tread separations. Often these accidents result from the use of retreaded tires, which can delaminate or separate at high speeds, scattering tire debris across the highway.

We are experienced and have the financial resources necessary to conduct intensive investigations and litigation efforts in accidents caused by tire blowouts. Most importantly, we have the determination needed to win.

Retreads and Highway Safety
A retread is a tire with a new outer tread attached to an old tire casing. Retreads or recaps are rarely used on cars due to safety concerns, as the new tread can separate from the casing when the tire gets hot. Unfortunately, trucking companies often use retreads on truck trailers to save money.
The failure of a retreaded tire on the trailer of an 18-wheeler may not cause the truck driver to lose control of his or vehicle. However, tread separation can put other drivers in harm's way. If you are injured in an accident caused by catastrophic failure of a retreaded tire, both the trucking company and the company that made the retreaded tire may be liable.
The attorneys at Cavanagh Law Group will work hard to build a strong and successful case for you. We welcome inquiries from individuals and referring law firms throughout the state of Illinois.
