In 2009, two young men, Andrew Cazares and Fausto Manzera, were killed when former Chicago Police Detective, Joseph Frugoli's vehicle, collided with their stalled car on the Dan Ryan Expressway. On September 6, 2012, Joseph Frugoli pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI charges in the deaths of both young men. Then today, Cook County Judge, Charles Burns, convicted Frugoli of two additional counts of leaving the scene of a fatal crash. Frugoli now faces up to 31 years in prison.
